WordPress site for Café Katarynka — a live music venue at ul. Prosta 13 in Toruń. One of my first freelance CMS projects, built in 2009.

The venue

Katarynka was a café centred on live events: concerts, jam sessions, and cabaret. The site served as the event feed keeping regulars up to date on upcoming performances. Full navigation: Strona Główna, Informacje, Kontakt, Księga Gości (guestbook), Napisali o Nas (press coverage), Oferta. Content was organised across three categories — concerts (9), events (5), news (10) — and the site ran from July 2009 through at least August 2010.

The build

This was WordPress 2.x territory — custom theming meant working directly with PHP template files and the Loop, with no theme framework or page builder ecosystem to lean on. I built on the HotE base theme by Patrick, handling all customisations and Polish translation (credited in the footer: "All changes and translation by Paweł Holik"). The sidebar had the standard mix for a venue with a regular crowd: tag cloud, calendar widget, poll, and social links to Picasa gallery, YouTube, and Nasza-Klasa — the dominant Polish social network of the era.
